The Tribal Journey

Zougei
We met Zougei for the first time about ten years ago.We were surprised that they created works in such style in Japan. The furniture making technique without jointing or glueing woods is often seen in African craft. We felt the strong sense of tribal style from such non-Japanese technique and unique shape of Zougei’s works.
In this exhibition, we recalled the first impression and tried to add some other works besides theirs. These include antiques from Asian countries and tribal style works by other artists. Please experience the exotic atmosphere here.
