Portraits of zouki
Hiroyuki Nishimura and
Zogei carved furniture

We are holding Hiroyuki Nishimura's exhibition titled "Portraits of zouki." Woods he uses have no utility for general use and most of them are being abandoned. In many kinds of such woods, there are only a few suitable for furniture or architectural use. In Japan, we call these unuseful woods "zouki" and distinguish them from others. He attempts to create sculpture or furniture from zouki by sculptural way. Please see his works which are full of vital and secret power of woods.
